San Francisco, California is one of the United States’ most beautiful and romantic cities. Just north of the city lies the lush California wine producing Sonoma and Napa valleys. Here one will see the rugged mountains of western Sonoma County, where the Russian River flows past redwood-topped ridges, and Pacific coastal towns like Bodega Bay entice seafood lovers with Dungeness crab sold from the back of a boat. The vintners of Napa and Sonoma Valley produce some of the world’s finest wines and offer fine fare to accompany the wines in scenic surroundings. This tour will introduce the traveler to this popular area of the United States and offer the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the top porcelain painters from around the world. The International Porcelain Artists and Teachers (IPAT) was founded in 1958 in Dallas, Texas by a small group of Porcelain Art Teachers. Today the group has members from all over the world. Its bi-annual convention includes seminars, workshops, demonstrations and exhibitors from around the world paired with fun social events and a chance for the artists and teachers to meet and learn from each other: http://www.ipatinc.com/CONVENTION.html

Extend your stay with a visit to Yosemite National Park or south to the Monterrey Coast.
